The 3D-NPC
membrane

See how it works →

HyperBlot's nanopore membrane surface under electron microscopy

Traditional western blot membranes are one-and-done. After antibody probing, if you want more information from your sample, you have to run another blot.

In HyperBlot, the 3D-NPC membrane binds proteins covalently inside capillary nanopores, so they can be probed, imaged, regenerated and re-probed indefinitely.

Your blot is essentially immortalized.

Gather as much proteomic information from your samples as you want, limited only by the antibodies available, and because HyperBlot is open architecture, almost any commercially available antibody can be used in the system.

  • Covalent capture
  • Unlimited re-probing
  • Fast, flow-through kinetics
  • Any antibody, any vendor
One experiment, limitless questions
Unnormalized HyperBlot readout. Twenty-one antibodies in rows, grouped by pathway — loading, MAPK, stress, Akt, PKA, PKC and immediate-early genes — each labeled with its supplier catalog number. Columns are vehicle and six agonists (NECA, LPA, TFFLR, isoprenaline, EGF, PGE3) at 5 min, 30 min and 3 h.
Up to 20 samples per membrane · unlimited sequential antibody cycles

Signaling cascade resolved in a single experiment

Performed on HEK cells treated with GPCR & RTK agonists. Probing with phospho-antibodies revealed the distinct signaling pathways downstream of each receptor. The entire experiment took two days, including every blot, all on the same membrane.

Twenty-one of those antibodies are shown here, grouped by pathway and labeled with their supplier catalog numbers: vehicle and six agonists, at 5 min, 30 min and 3 h.

Presented at the 2026 Gordon Research Conference, “Phosphorylation and G-Protein Mediated Signaling Networks.”

Enhanced investigatory power
Why does this matter?

The readout is familiar on purpose.

For forty-five years the western blot has been the assay scientists believe. Slow, manual, temperamental, one target at a time, and still the thing a reviewer asks for when the result actually matters. We had no interest in asking you to give that up.

So HyperBlot returns bands. Real bands, resolved by molecular weight in SDS-PAGE, quantified the way you'd quantify them yourself. That’s deliberate. A platform that hands back numbers alone gets confirmed by western anyway, and research slows.

What changed is not the readout. It is what happens to the sample.

A traditional western is a question you ask once. The membrane is consumed, the aliquot is spent, and the next question costs another blot. HyperBlot doesn't consume the sample. Proteins bind covalently into the 3D-NPC membrane, so the membrane survives the first interrogation: as many targets as you want now, and more whenever you come back, against all of your original samples, with no new material and no batch effect between the answers.

That is not a faster western blot. It is a different unit of experiment. Your samples stop being consumables and become a queryable archive, a specimen you can keep interrogating as the hypothesis moves, for as long as the biology stays interesting.

A western blot is an experiment — run once, consumed, done. HyperBlot archives your specimen so you can keep interrogating it.

Evidence

It matches the gold standard. Then it keeps going.

Identical samples and identical antibodies, compared across systems.

Figure 1 · Against a western

Same samples, same antibodies, same answer

A dilution series run on both systems, ten targets deep. Bands land at the same molecular weights with comparable sensitivity, and every HyperBlot stain came off one chip.
Figure 2 · Linearity

It reads the same as a western

Twenty-nine antibodies we source, run as dilution series on both systems. Each pair of traces is one antibody measured conventionally and on HyperBlot. The lines track together across the working range, so quantitation you would trust from a western holds here. The platform is not trading accuracy for multiplexing.
Figure 3 · Archive stability

And it still reads that way a month later

One phospho-GSK-3β (Ser9) dilution series, imaged at first stain and again after a month of dry storage at room temperature. The blots are visually equivalent and the signal-to-background curves overlie each other across four orders of magnitude: a phosphosite, the most fragile thing on a blot, surviving the shelf.
Figure 4 · Re-probe cycling

Where conventional membranes stop, this one keeps going

Top: seven cycles on one membrane. Cycles 2, 4 and 6 are secondary-only controls: nothing carries over, so every antibody reads clean, and cycle 7 returns to the cycle-1 antibody with its bands intact.

Bottom: relative signal against cycle count, for a phosphosite and a housekeeping protein. Nitrocellulose and PVDF, stripped by any of four conventional protocols, fall to baseline within two or three cycles. HyperBlot holds past forty.

HyperBlot is validated in independent academic and industry laboratories, with results accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. The platform accepts antibodies from any source, just like a traditional western, and we add to the list of validated supplier antibodies continually. A line co-developed with our preferred antibody partner runs on it out of the box. Pick your targets →

Talk to one of our specialists before ordering

Most researchers arrive with the same questions: can you really read unlimited targets from one sample, over time; which proteins can you detect, and at what sensitivity; and can you really keep my samples so I can come back and run new queries against them later?

We'd love to discuss HyperBlot Services with you. If it's a fit, we can talk through sample prep, what's detectable, and what the archive means for your project. When you're ready, we'll set up your account and send a prep kit, and we'll do the rest.
